Nearly 61/2 months ago we set out with one goal in mind and that is to become NBA World Champions. Eighty-two games later and 59 wins to count, we refuse to lose sight of our goal. Over the years, I have experienced the peaks and valleys of this league. This has helped me become the player I am today. Reaching 50+ wins for the first time in my career is a rewarding feeling, but I can’t imagine anything better than going down in history as an NBA World Champion.
In training camp Coach Stan preached consistency and commitment while maintaining a high level of focus. Our preparation throughout the season has been a major factor in our success as well as our team chemistry. We believe that winning has to become a habit and that habit had to begin with everyone believing we can win. It’s been a few years since my last playoff appearance and I have been asked many times, “How does it feel?” I refuse to get caught up in that hype so my approach is simple…take care of the ball by limiting turnovers, defend, but most importantly play hard every second of the game.
Being that this is Charlotte’s first playoff appearance, it’s evident that they are going to come out hungry, excited, and prepared; making this a great first round of action. I’ve been waiting for this moment for years so like the famous voice of Michael Buffer, LET'S GET READY TO RUUUMMMBBBLLLEEEE……..!
Sunday, April 18th @ 5:30 on TNT is when the fun begins.
