After a combined 94 pre-season, regular season and playoff games, today is day 2 of our two day break. This couldn’t have been more needed after this first round battle with the Bobcats. I spent the entire day yesterday doing absolutely nothing and that R & R (which means Rest & Rehab for old guys like me) was greatly appreciated. This morning I woke up, hit the weights and put up a few shots, because knowing Coach Stan, he is going to put us through a marathon practice on Thursday…you can guarantee that!
With the uncertainty of the Hawks vs. Bucks series, we could play as early as Sunday and as late as Tuesday, so it’s imperative we maintain our focus and intensity and come out prepared for Game 1 against whomever we are playing. Thankfully we finished the first series by attacking the basket, getting to the hole and being aggressive which translated to ‘Wins.” So it’s clear what we need to do moving forward into Round 2.
Experiencing the playoff atmosphere did require some adjustment since my last playoff game was the 2006-07 season. It’s definitely exciting to be playing in games that matter again, and I thank everyone for his/her continued support.
Round 2 here we come…
Back to the gym I go; you can never practice too much!
